If you use a navigation app like Google Maps and find it frustrating to look for the right street without getting specific instructions, you’ll love this new, free app. It highlights the building locations on the map as you roam around your city. As you walk, it draws a blue line showing your route and your designated buildings with tags like residence, workplace or shop. You can also effortlessly save maps of such places as London Underground stations and airports (and their walkways) before leaving home so that once there all you have to do is zoom in on them to find out where exits lead. You will be able to see them overlaid on the map by tapping "add" at any time even if offline. The cities you can view are: London, New York, Beijing, Paris and Sydney. "You'll find it a useful navigation aid – and a great companion on your travels!" writes David Porter of The Guardian. "For those with active lives and jobs, it's also a helpful way to map out your home town or your nearest local area. It works on iOS as well as Android." Mapping is not the only app to get this new feature. Appolicious says: "You also need to download the new Local Guides app which notifies you of any parcels available for pickup and has a map showing available locations. It's a neat feature which really makes you feel like you're at the forefront of technology. " Appolicious adds that while this app is still in beta, it has proven its potential. Also, if you are worried about privacy, there is no need to worry because this app does not store your location or personal data which include your last location. The App Store is full of apps designed to help people find places by tagging them with their names. Here are three of our favorites: "Find Someone Now" by The Bancroft Group, the company behind Groupon, launches its third location service app. This one follows in the footsteps of "Find People Now" and "Find Places Now". This app is free to download and free to use until your first $25 purchase with us. One of the biggest challenges for apps that help people find places is finding something new to say about every place that's new to you. So it's refreshing when a company comes up with a useful new feature that sounds useful but doesn't actually do anything. Take this one, for example: "Looking For A Place To Eat? Search Nearby Restaurants Or Places To Drink. Once you've chosen the type of place you want to find, it lets you know which ones are nearby. You can even save them for later." This app is free to download and free to use until your first $25 purchase with us. Update: The company said that this app will also be available for Android soon. A standard piece of advice for starting out as a new entrepreneur is "find an investor" – but now there's an app for that. LaunchAsia says it's "an e-commerce discovery platform that lets people search for companies based on industry, location, product type or something else". cfa1e77820
